December Summary

• 95 Top Level Domains were scanned.
• a total of 15,646,845 real hosts were found, compared to 16,205,550 in November.
• the TLD nl had the most real hosts, with 2,632,137 (approximately 17% of the total).
• the largest increase was in the TLD pt, at an increase of 67,301 real hosts in comparison with November.
• 14 TLDs were being ommitted from the count at the time of generation of this page:

Notes

The large drop in the number of hosts counted for the past month is caused mainly by drops in at, it and ru. A lot of zones in those domains were unfortunately not countable because of AXFR blocks, which seem to happen more often lately.

For this reason, we are considering to contact the administrators of blocking nameservers with the request to allow zone transfers to the hostcount IP address.
